A move is coming for Leontien van Moorsel, because the Shownieuws expert has put her house up for sale. It concerns a detached house, of which the pictures can now be found on numerous websites. The sales price? 1,675,000 euros. Well, the former cycling professional isn’t exactly doing it wrong…

‘5.5 tons of profit!’

Leontien walks according to the weekly magazine Party completely if she can sell it for that price. “Leontien and her husband Michael Zijlaard bought the villa in 2019 for an amount of 1,120,000 euros and had two mortgages placed on it for a total of just under 875,000 euros.”

What does a simple calculation teach? “If you sell for the asking price, a nice profit of 555,000 euros looms on the horizon!”

Distorted picture

That’s not too bad, Leontien responds Weekend. “That gives a distorted picture, because afterwards I invested a lot in making it as it is now. The buyer’s costs were added and then we still had to do the garden, the kitchen, the floors and the doors. That made quite a difference.”

Why Leontien is selling her 228 square meter villa? “Our house is quite big for the three of us, and my daughter will probably go to college next year. Then the entire top floor will be empty.”

Vacuuming problem

However, there is something else that plays a role: Leontien believes that you should vacuum your house every day and given the surface area of her home, she spends an extremely long time on this on a daily basis.

She admits: “I have the dream of living high up in the same neighborhood, with a view over Rotterdam. With less maintenance, so no more garden. I also think I get a lot more peace in an apartment, because it’s a big word to say that I’m afraid of dirt, but I vacuum every day.”
