Pascal K. and Leon B., who have been missing near Zehdenick in the Oberhavel district since Friday, have still not been found despite an extensive search.

Now special sniffer dogs and divers are to be used on the Großer Wentowsee, as a police spokesman said on Tuesday in Neuruppin. All indications indicated that the two 21-year-olds had gone to the lake and later probably into the lake after a men’s day party.

The wanted people, who live in the Oberhavel district and in Berlin, celebrated on Ascension Day with friends in Zabelsdorf, a district of Zehdenick.

According to the police, they are said to have gone in the direction of Großer Wentowsee on Friday night. Clothing belonging to the two missing persons was found there over the weekend. The missing men had not yet turned up at their places of residence or with relatives.

The Great Wentowsee – a well-known bathing water in the district of Oberhavel – has an area of 279 hectares and is part of the Oberen-Havel waterway. According to regular studies, there are limited visibility depths there, which make rescue operations more difficult in an emergency.
