The Austrian fiber manufacturer Lenzing AG announced on Wednesday that some management positions would be filled. At the same time, the group announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Thomas Obendrauf would leave the company.
The new CEO will be Stephan Sielaff, who has been with Lenzing since March 2020 and is responsible for two key departments on the Group Management Board as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). As CEO, he will succeed Stefan Doboczky on April 1, who left Lenzing at the end of September last year.
Cord Prinzhorn, who has led the group as interim CEO since Doboczky’s departure, is returning to the Supervisory Board and is to take over its chairmanship in the future. As Lenzing announced, the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Peter Edelmann, will “leave at his own request” at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on April 26.
CFO Obendrauf will also give up his post. He “informed the supervisory board that he was no longer available for a further extension of his contract, which expires in June 2022,” according to a statement. In addition to his core tasks, he was most recently responsible for the construction of the recently completed lyocell plant in Thailand.
“After six years, I have decided with a heavy heart to leave Lenzing in order to pursue my desire for a career change,” explained Obendrauf, who will continue to support the company “until a successor takes over”. The supervisory board is currently working “on a timely replacement”, the group announced.
