For the first time this year, the Austrian fiber manufacturer Lenzing Gruppe will award young researchers with the “Young Scientist Award” for excellent research work in the fiber and textile sector.
At the Dornbirn Fiber Congress (GFC Dornbirn), which will be held for the 61st time by the Austrian Fiber Institute from December 14 to 16, bachelor and master students can present their scientific work in the categories of fashion and circular economy, textile recycling and the innovative use of bio-based fibers submit and face a jury of well-known experts from the industry.
This consists of Karla Magruder, founder of Acceleration Circularity, Friedericke von Wedel-Parlow from the Beneficial Design Institute Berlin and Dieter Eichinger, Head of Standardization and Innovation, Secretary-General of BISFA.
“Young Scientist Award” awards 5,000 euros
The winning project will be awarded prize money of 5,000 euros. “The goal is to support students and to create a platform for networking with the textile and fiber industry,” explains Lenzing in a press release.
From February 1st, 2022 to June 15th, 2022, applicants for the “Young Scientist Award” have the opportunity to submit their work (theses, papers, and similar) to Lenzing in English.
