Lenzing appoints new chief financial officer

Lenzing AG has appointed Nico Reiner as the new Chief Financial Officer.

He will take up the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on January 1, the Austrian specialty fiber manufacturer announced on Wednesday. Reiner takes over for Thomas Obendrauf, “who will leave the company after seven years of his own volition”. On top of that, I had already informed the Lenzing Supervisory Board in March that he did not want to extend his contract, which expired in June, in order to pursue a career change. Until Reiner takes office, Managing Director Stephan Sielaff will take over the finance department on an interim basis.

Reiner comes from Vacuumschmelze GmbH & Co. KG, a supplier of magnetic materials, where he was active as CFO. He also held this position at companies such as the Schüco Group, the AL-KO Group and the Pfleiderer Group. He was also active as a management consultant.

“We are pleased to welcome Nico Reiner, a proven financial expert with a great deal of international experience, to the Lenzing Management Board,” says Cord Prinzhorn, Chairman of the Lenzing Supervisory Board. “The Lenzing Group will accelerate its profitable growth course after the successful implementation of the recent capacity expansions and has set itself ambitious financial targets for 2027. Nico Reiner will play an important role in this and in the implementation of the corporate strategy.”
