Lennert Vanlathem from Oostduinkerke shot to bronze in the elimination race in the MC1 class. Just like on Friday in the scratch, he only had to let the Spaniard Ricardo Ten Argiles and the neutral athlete Ivan Ermakov go first. The 25-year-old Vanlathem, who suffered paralysis on his left side of the body due to a thrombosis at the age of sixteen, took his second bronze medal of this World Cup after the scratch earlier this week.
The medal count for Paralympic Team Belgium stands at five. Vanlathem will also be in action today, on the final day of the world championship.
