The Suprs will take care of 7 million. The rest, about 5, will be put up by Barça

The central defender, who has a contract until June 2026, will return to the Camp Nou next season

The French Clement Lenglet will be the fourth player from the FC Barcelona squad that will drop out in this transfer window after the dismissals of Dani Alves, Adama and Luuk de Jong.

The Barcelona center-back will go on loan to Tottenham, although not in the conditions that Barça would have wanted. The London team cannot take charge of one hundred percent of Lenglet’s fileso the Spurs will pay more than 7 million and the rest (another five) will be provided by Barça.

In conversations between the two teams there was a very good tune since last season they agreed to transfer Emerson for around 20 million euros. In addition, the London team, from the first day, showed real interest in taking over the defender’s services.

Convinced

If the operation has taken longer than expected, it was due to the doubts of the player, who hoped to find a better offer. Finally, after speaking with the Tottenham manager, Anthony ConteLenglet decided upon hearing that it would be a “important player of the team”.

The operation should be closed in the next few days and, to lenglet, playing in a Premier team, with the World Cup in Qatar just around the corner, was an option that I couldn’t pass up. The Frenchman, in any case, always showed willingness to leave the Barcaalthough not at any price.

Lenglet has a contract with FC Barcelona until June 2026 and a termination clause of 300 million euros. He signed in July 2018 from Sevilla for 35.9 million for five years and renewed in October 2020 after a temporary salary adjustment due to the circumstances arising from the health crisis caused by Covid-19.
