Lendeledenaar Alec Segaert wins PK time trial in Ruddervoorde

European champion and vice world champion in the juniors, Alec Segaert’s credentials in time trial are impressive. He recently finished second in the TT of the Triptique after the Italian Milesi, but in Ruddervoorde he wants to go for first place.

“Not an emperor yet, but a top favourite”

“There was an emperor who said: ‘he came, he saw and he conquered’. I am still not an emperor, but I was a top favourite. During the time trial I had a really good feeling. It’s always nice to win, so I’m definitely happy,” Alec said after the game.

Opposition mainly comes from Elevate Home Solution-Soenens, with a strong Robin Orins, who has to give in for more than half a minute after two of the three rounds. His teammate Gust Lootens is also doing excellent, he is third.

Elite without a contract

The elite without a contract are also presented with three rounds, in which Torsten Demeyere is narrowly the better of Filip Speybrouck. Antony Debuy is third on the podium.

“I made it, and that’s the most important thing. I felt I’m having a really good day,” says Torsten. “It was also a bit of revenge for yesterday’s bad luck in Paris-Camembert. I was really keen on that. It was a short night, but if you are really motivated, you can get over it.”

Seppe Leman has been in the junior category for a long time with the best time, but he still has to bow to this Brent Baert of the Jonge Renners Roeselare. In the women’s race, the victory went to Julie Sap.
