“It was very wintry today,” says Dürr and adds: “It finally snowed.” This season is the “long-awaited”. This is exactly how it is with the hoped-for successes. “We are all in a good mood and want to take the results and the good runs from the last slalom races into the Flachau slalom. Hopefully we can do something then,” says Dürr optimistically.
Lena Dürr: from the “eternal fourth” to the podium
In view of the 31-year-old’s season so far and her appearance at the Olympics, Dürr has already been labeled the “eternal fourth”. She missed the podium twice in Levi. On the Zauberberg in Semmering, however, Dürr managed two good runs and the long-awaited first jump on the podium. She wants to confirm that in Flachau. But maybe there is even more to it. If her head coach Andreas Puelacher has her way, Dürr could soon be fighting for a win: “She works very hard and it’s only a matter of time – I’m convinced – then she’ll win a race.”
