Fürth (dpa) – Trainer Stefan Leitl is not involved in the search for his successor at SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
“No, although I’m in contact with Rachid (Azzouzi),” the 44-year-old replied to a question. “In depth I’m not there with it.”
A little over a week ago, Leitl announced his departure in the summer from the Franconian club, which had already been relegated to the second Bundesliga. Managing director Azzouzi has to find a successor for the promotion coach.
Leitl is said to take over Hannover 96 for the new season. There is “nothing to communicate” yet, said the Fürth coach before his last home game in Franconia on Saturday (3.30 p.m.) in front of a sold-out crowd against second-placed Bundesliga player Borussia Dortmund.
