RB Leipzig is on the home stretch in the ongoing transfer dispute over ex-striker Jean-Kévin Augustin. After a hearing at the International Sports Court Cas in Lausanne, the Saxon Bundesliga club is now waiting for a verdict. However, that could take months.
“We still think we’re right and are therefore very confident about the written verdict,” said Florian Scholz, Commercial Director Sport.
In principle, the question is whether Augustin is loaned to Leeds United in the 2019/2020 season and whether there is a purchase obligation and whether the English have to transfer a fee of 21 million euros to Leipzig or not. The world association FIFA had already agreed with Leipzig in this case, and the first division club from the county of Yorkshire then called Cas.
