Leipzig grabs the next Hertha talents

By Roberto Lamprecht and Paul Gorgas

The relegation hurts Hertha twice, more and more talents are now leaving for other Bundesliga clubs!

After Dortmund with offensive all-rounder Fali Zarqelain (14) and Hoffenheim with goalkeeper Nico Biedermann (15) recently grabbed two jewels, RB Leipzig are now clawing two more Hertha talents.

Once again it’s time to say: Berliner weg instead of Berliner Weg!

In the next few years, Hertha wanted to increasingly use the best talent from their own offspring. Now two more are gone!

According to BZ information, Yohan Ngatcheu (born 2008) is moving from Hertha’s U15 to Leipzig’s U16. The midfielder is considered a very talented dribbler. And striker Amos Gerth (born 2007), who fired Hertha’s U16 team under coach Malik Fathi (39) to the Regionalliga Nordost title last season, will score goals for the Red Bulls’ U17s in the future.

There, the lightning-fast attacker with his athleticism fits exactly into the concept. In general, Leipzig now wants to attack fully in the youth field, after ex-Bundesliga coach Manuel Baum (43) introduced a new NLZ manager.

After being relegated to the 2nd division, Hertha will not find it any easier to protect the talented players from the lucrative offers of the Bundesliga clubs.

Hertha will at least receive training compensation in the high five-digit or small six-digit range for Gerth and Ngatcheu.

Hertha hopes that in future it will only be Berliner Weg instead of Berliner Weg…

… but Hertha fishes Leipzig’s junior scout

RB Leipzig has repeatedly used the strong Hertha youth in recent years – now the Berliners are striking back!

BZ learned: Hertha signed the man who was responsible for these changes and many more: Fabian Blecher (34). The head of youth scouting at RB Leipzig is to become a blue and white from July 1st!

Blecher resigned on Monday after nine years at RB and has since been released. He comes from Berlin and used to coach a number of youth teams (Foxes, SCC, Tennis Borussia).

Mainly he should now work at Hertha again as a coach (probably in the U14). At the same time, thanks to his large network, he could ensure that the best talents in Berlin were discovered at an early stage for Hertha’s various junior squads, incorporated and retained. So that the “Berlin way” goes in the right direction in the future…

This is how Hertha kills many birds with one stone!
