6 games without a win
Relegation-threatened Leicester City have reacted a day after the 2-1 draw with Crystal Palace and announced the separation from coach Brendan Rodgers. Last year’s eighth in the English Premier League had not won six games in a row and had slipped down the table.
The 50-year-old took over the post at the “Foxes” in February 2019 and since then has averaged 1.59 points in 204 competitive games. He won the FA Cup with Leicester in 2021 and the Community Shield Super Cup the following season. Last season, his team only failed in the semi-finals of the Conference League at AS Roma. The decision to split was mutual, Rodgers is leaving the club “as one of the most successful coaches in the club’s history,” according to the official statement. Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell from the extended coaching staff will take over on an interim basis.

Commenting on the decision, Leicester boss Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “The performance of the team under Brendan’s leadership speaks for itself – we have experienced some of our finest football moments under his leadership and will always be grateful to him and his staff for what he achieves for us on the pitch let. Off the pitch, Brendan has embraced the club’s culture and helped create an excellent development environment. (…) His place in Leicester City history is secure. However, the performances and results in the current season have fallen short of our common expectations. We believed that continuity and stability would be key to correcting our course, especially given our past successes under Brendan’s leadership. Regrettably the desired improvement has not materialized and with ten games remaining in the season the board are being forced to take alternative measures to protect our Premier League status.”
Leicester City Football Club has reached a mutual agreement with Brendan Rodgers that will see him leave the Club after four years as our Men’s First Team Manager.
