Legislation restricts the use of drones in rescue operations

Drones are already being used to locate missing persons, to provide assistance in the event of fires and traffic accidents, or to monitor unguarded areas on the coast. But the legislation still restricts the use of the drone too much, Governor Decaluwé recently replied to provincial councilor Kurt Himpe. A drone can only fly up to 500 meters away from the pilot, and incidents still require a time-consuming risk analysis.
