Legia fans injure police officers before game against Aston Villa

Three police officers were injured before Premier League club Aston Villa’s home game against Legia Warsaw in the Conference League on Thursday. As the Birmingham police told X, rockets were thrown at the emergency services during a clash with fans. This happened when Legia supporters were held in a bus parking lot near the Villa stadium.

Subsequently, no Polish spectators were allowed into the arena before the game kicked off at 9 p.m. In advance, Legia’s ticket quota for the away game in England had already been reduced to just under 1,000 tickets in order to prevent possible riots. Numerous fans still traveled to the island.
