Around midnight, witnesses alerted the police and fire brigade. Two cars, including a charging electric car, were already on fire.

The police found damage to dozens of vehicles: shattered windows, chipped exterior mirrors and smeared bodies. The vandals also attacked shops and the local job center.

Paint pots and stones were thrown at the job center, and other shop windows were smashed with cobblestones and metal bars.

Rapid search success: By quickly searching the vicinity of the crime scene and using the police helicopter “Pirol Berlin”, two people were identified who ultimately turned out to be suspects.

Officers from Section 57 and the 14th Einsatzhundred found the two men and searched them. They found magnesium torches, so-called Bengalos.

Since the perpetrators left several graffiti in Seydelstraße, it is assumed that they are perpetrators from the left-wing scene and that this act was dedicated to the upcoming May 1st.

The police state protection will take over the investigation. There was property damage of several hundred thousand euros.
