‘Left’ of 150,000 daffodil bulbs planted in roadsides Heerhugowaard

No less than 150,000 daffodil bulbs will go into the Heerhugowaard soil. It seems like a huge task, but a local flower bulb exporter has a handy machine for it. And then it goes pretty fast.

Fifteen varieties of mixed daffodil bulbs are placed on the roadside at five locations along Middenweg and Oosttangent. “The ‘planting machine’ opens the grass, throws the balls underneath and closes the grass again, and then nature does its job,” says Tijmen Verver to media partner Dike and Waard Central.

The verges should be in bloom in about three months. Incidentally, it turns out to be a ‘leftover’ of flower bulbs. How that works, Verver explains in the report:
