A jersey worn by basketball superstar LeBron James has sold for $3.7 million in the United States.
Never before has a jersey from the four-time NBA champion earned more. The 38-year-old’s previous record for an All-Star jersey was $630,000 from 2020.
The jersey worn by James in the Miami Heat’s seventh game of the 2013 Finals against the San Antonio Spurs was auctioned off by auction house Sotheby’s in New York on Friday. The record for an NBA Finals jersey is $10.1 million, worn by Michael Jordan in 1998.
Interest in James is currently increasing. The Los Angeles Lakers icon is just 178 points short of breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record. Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar still holds this with 38,387 points.
