The campaign is part of the annual campaign “Making music instead of concreting” by the group “Lebenslaute. Classical music – political action” against the expansion of the Berlin city motorway. The performance of a classical orchestra and choir had been announced for the approved concert on Thursday afternoon.

The program included compositions by Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Dmitri Shostakovich and Rio Reiser, among others. According to the activists, the expansion of motorways as part of the federal traffic route plan is no longer up-to-date.
