“I’m finally an adult: I can vote, I can drive a car. That’s a milestone actually,” jokes Stephane Debonne from Geluwe. He is actually 72, but is only celebrating his 18th birthday. And that included a party today, in the archives of Ypres, where he works as a volunteer.
“We actually celebrate it every year. The first of March or the 28th of February, depending on whether it’s a weekend or not,” says Stephane. “We celebrate it every year, but every four years it’s something special.”
