Union beats Mainz 2-1 – taking the lead in the Bundesliga! Because the previous leaders FC Bayern only play on Sunday (in Wolfsburg). The last time the surprise club was enthroned after the 12th match day at the top of the table.
Union is still undefeated in 2023! Four wins in the league, one win in the cup on Tuesday.
Madness: The last home defeat in the Bundesliga was 51 (!) weeks ago. On February 13th, 2022 Dortmund lost 0:3.

Incidentally, the last Mainz victory at Union was more than 20 years ago. In 2002, the FSV won 2-0 in Berlin. Back then coach? Jürgen Klopp.

Shock moment in the 50th minute! The Mainzer Kohr lands on his face on the ground after an aerial duel with Haberer and has to be treated. He continues to play for a short time, goes down after another duel, holding his ribs.
