Leading minds leave Signa

According to media reports, more and more top managers are leaving the ailing Signa Group. According to insiders cited by the food newspaper, this also applies to former Rewe board member Ernst-Dieter Berninghaus, who wanted to return to the company at the turn of the year 2023/24 after a health-related break. But this is now not the case. Berninghaus has been chairman of the advisory board of Signa Holding since 2016. Since spring 2023, work has been suspended due to illness.

Austrian media also reported that Wolfram Keil and Franz Hillebrand had also left Signa. Both were managing directors at Signa Retail in Austria, Keil was also chairman of the supervisory board at Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof, Hillebrand was CIO at Signa Group of Companies and had been with the company for over 20 years.

So far, Signa has not responded to a request about the events.
