Lead levels too high – H&M recalls men’s pearl bracelet

The fashion company H&M has recalled a men’s pearl bracelet with a clasp because of excessive lead levels. It is a piece of jewelry with the product number 1163609 and the order numbers 498512 and 433537, said the portal “lebensmittelnning.de” on Friday. The bracelet was sold in the men’s departments of H&M stores and online between December 28, 2022 and July 11, 2023.

The fashion company posted notices asking customers to stop wearing the bracelet and return it to one of the H&M stores to get a full refund of the purchase price of 9.99 euros. It is not necessary to present a receipt.

Lead values were found on the bracelet, which violated the EU chemicals regulation REACH. Lead can damage the central and peripheral nervous system and impair blood formation. It can also lead to kidney damage and gastrointestinal problems. (dpa)
