LAKS: calm in terms of complaints on the second exam day ANP

The complaints line of the Landelijk Aktie Komitee Scholieren (LAKS) received about 30,000 complaints on the second day of the central final exams and thus speaks of a “quiet day”. On Thursday, there were 50,000 complaints, which was above average, a spokeswoman for the LAKS reported.

Most complaints on Friday were about the math A exam for havo. For example, students complained that there were many long, vague stories on the exam. According to them, it was “reading a lot and calculating little”, according to the LAKS.

There were also many complaints about Mathematics B, which according to HAVO students would be very similar to a physics exam, and about the VWO exam in biology. For one of the questions on this exam, the answer option would not be extensive enough.

Last year, the LAKS received more than 212,000 complaints in the first period alone, which was a record. According to the students, this was mainly due to the consequences of the corona pandemic. Students found themselves at home during lockdowns and faced stress and insecurity.
