Lawyer: mother ‘Bolle Jos’ was in danger according to police

The police reportedly warned the mother of fugitive Breda resident Jos Leijdekkers, ‘Bolle Jos’, that her life was in danger. Her lawyer said this in court in Rotterdam on Friday. However, she couldn’t imagine that threat. “She did not take it seriously and we want to know from the Public Prosecution Service whether this was a method to provoke reactions.”

According to the lawyer, it would be ‘very bad’ if that were the case. “There has been no evidence of a serious threat to my client.” The public prosecutor responded in court that he knows nothing about this. “We can’t say anything about it.”

Two Bentleys
Leijdekkers’ father, mother and sister are on trial for money laundering of, among other things, watches, expensive handbags, an apartment in Dubai and two Bentleys. The case against them came to light in the investigation into ‘Bolle Jos’, who is seen by the judiciary as a key player in the drug trade in the Netherlands and Belgium. He is suspected of large-scale trafficking, import and export of cocaine.

The police have been looking for Leijdekkers for some time. He is, among other things, on the National Investigation List. An amount of 200,000 euros has been offered for the tip leading to his arrest.

Criminal case in June
The criminal case against Leijdekkers will be heard on June 10, 11 and 12. Possibly without Leijdekkers, if he has not been arrested yet. “But preferably with, of course,” a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service said.

Several of his alleged accomplices have been arrested recently, including his parents and sister. The first hearing against the mother, father and sister will take place in the court in Rotterdam on Friday. They are suspected of money laundering.
