Lauterbach welcomes the decision to make measles vaccination compulsory

Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach described the confirmation of the measles vaccination requirement by the Federal Constitutional Court as “good news for parents and children”. “Measles is life-threatening – for the sick and their environment,” said the SPD politician in Berlin. It is therefore the task of the state to avoid infections in community facilities such as daycare centers or schools. “Anyone who is cared for or taught there and who works there must be demonstrably protected against measles infection. And for everyone else, measles vaccination is common sense.”
