Diagnosis

After the period, the symptoms did not improve, although the man was thoroughly examined.

– More symptoms started to appear and the previous ones got stronger. Around Christmas, I was already really worried about the future.

In January, Rönkkö finally received explanations for his symptoms. He was diagnosed with reflux disease, in which the contents of the stomach repeatedly rise back into the esophagus, causing symptoms that impair quality of life.

However, Rönkkö speculated that reflux disease alone did not cause symptoms.

– I was told that I suffered from anxiety disorder, some degree of depression and severe exhaustion, among other things, Rönkkö said.

Cure
