Free Lauri from Markka played Utah Jazz fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 98-114 last night. The Finn was sidelined for the game due to a hand injury.
With the loss, Utah lost its chance to qualify for the NBA playoffs, although it still has two games to play. The team is in the 12th place in the West, and Oklahoma, which is two places higher, is locked in the last qualifying spot.
Markkanen has played a real breakthrough season in the NBA, as the Finn was even selected for the series’ all-star game. Pistelinko has said that playing in the playoffs would be his dream, but now it won’t come true despite the cannon season.
The current season is already Markkanen’s sixth career in the NBA, but the man has not yet been able to smell the playoff atmosphere.
