The football Ykkönen match played in Oulunkylä between Gnistan and JäPS had a distinguished guest who attracted attention, when the basketball player Lauri Markkanen arrived at the scene.
Markkanen had gotten the chance to join his brother in his haste Eero Markkanen match. Isoveli currently plays for Helsinki’s Gnistan and leads Ykkönen’s goal exchange with six hits.
However, the little brother who rose to world stardom was the most followed character of the match event. Gnistan posted a picture on his social media channels, when the basketball player gave group photos to those who wanted to.
Meanwhile, on the playing field, Eero Markkanen remained scoreless when the even match ended 0–0. Gnistan is third in Ykkös and a point away from the leaders Ekenäs IF and MP.
Lauri Markkanen has been in Finland completing his military service since April. A week ago, he said goodbye to his rookie season and swore a military oath.
The Finnish national basketball team is waiting for Markkas for the WC camp at the end of July. The World Cup starts in August, and Finland plays in the Okinawa group with Japan, Germany and Australia.
