Two more days and then Amber van den Elzen from Gemert will be in the final of ‘Deutschland sucht den Superstar’, the German version of the TV talent show Idols. Six years ago, her sister Laura van den Elzen was still in the final, who was then second. Now it’s Amber’s turn, who is busy with the final preparations.
“Sometimes it feels a bit like I’m on a roller coaster. I have photo shoots, I have to practice a lot and it’s all quite busy. But I really enjoy everything,” says Amber.
The sisters have a lot of contact together. “We are very close and talk a lot. Amber calls every day”, Laura laughs. “If she’s tense or worried, I’ll talk to her. It’s great that we can do this together.”
After Laura came second in the talent show six years ago, many performances and albums followed. “My sister may have been a bit in my shadow. That’s why I always hoped that Amber could experience this too. It’s really great that she has come this far.”
“If she’s tense or worried, I’ll talk to her.”
According to Laura, it sometimes happens that the sisters are compared to each other, but the two are not worried about that. “There is no competition between us at all. That is also because we used to do everything together. Amber sympathized with me when I was in the final. And now I feel that the other way around very much for her.”
On Saturday Amber will perform live in Cologne. “If she wins, but also if she doesn’t win, I think we will perform a lot together,” says Laura. “And above all enjoy it!”
