The central government is continuously working on ICT and information provision (IV) for well-functioning digital services and a reliable digital government. Well-functioning ICT systems and information provision are increasingly important for the central government and society. The central government wants to make information about these systems and facilities even more transparent, comprehensive and available in an open manner. A major step in this regard is a renewed National ICT Dashboard.

Renewed dashboard

The purpose of the updated dashboard is to provide openness and share knowledge. The dashboard must show the added value of ICT and information provision in an accessible manner. The dashboard must inform a wide audience: from Members of Parliament to interested citizens and employees at government organizations. Extra emphasis was placed on accessibility during the development of the new dashboard.

While the former dashboard was an overview of mainly large IT projects, more information can now be found on the updated dashboard. The amount of activities on the site has also been expanded. In addition, the social benefits of the major ICT activities and the topics of information security, AI and algorithms have been added. Furthermore, the dashboard is more user-friendly and now has an A status for digital accessibility.

Future

The Government ICT dashboard does not stand still after its launch, it will be further updated in 2024. The intention is for the dashboard to be completely open source in the future. In addition, further work is being done on adding more substantive interpretation and insight into parliamentary questions about ICT activities, insight into the recommendations of the ICT Assessment Advisory Board and the digitization budget.

Open and values-driven dashboard

The renewal of the dashboard is in line with the development of an open government.
At a time when more data is collected, shared, and used in new ways, there is an increasing importance of transparency and context in the field of ICT and information provision. By opening up more and more information, the government can be better controlled, which can further improve the quality of ICT and information provision. In this way we contribute to confidence in the central government and the digital world.

The dashboard can be found at Government ICT dashboard (rijksictdashboard.nl).
