The Latvian government has expressed its support for a proposal to reintroduce military service. The proposal, from the Ministry of Defense, is now being worked out into a bill within the government. The Baltic country shares more than 200 km of border with Russia. It shares a border of about 170 km with Russia’s ally Belarus.
