Latvia to reintroduce military conscription in response to neighboring Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Parliament has approved the necessary legislative amendments for this purpose. It is planned that military service will be gradually reintroduced from the middle of this year, first on a voluntary basis and from next year on a compulsory basis.
