Thousands of civilians trapped by fighting in Gaza after the ruling of the Hague Court
Thousands of civilians remain trapped this Saturday in the Gaza Strip due to bombings and fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas fighters, a day after an international court called on Israel to avoid genocidal acts.
The alarm has centered on Khan Younis, the largest city in southern Gaza, whose two main hospitals are barely functioning amid relentless shelling and the demands of thousands of needy people. According to witnesses, the town was once again the target of nighttime bombings.
The attacks came after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague ruled on Friday that Israel must prevent possible acts of “genocide” in its war against Hamas, the Islamist movement that rules Gaza.
