There were plenty of opportunities for Telstar to visit Almere City. For a long time it didn’t seem to yield any goals, until substitute David Min struck in injury time: 0-1. As a result, the second victory of the season is a fact.
Cain Seedorf was missing from the White Lions due to a shoulder injury; Jay Kruiver was his replacement. The first danger came from Glynor Plet, but his header went wide of the goal of former FC Volendam keeper Nordin Bakker. On the other hand, Stije Rensink tested goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr., but he made an excellent save. Plet thought he would score the opening goal after 24 minutes from a corner headed through, but referee Vos disallowed the goal for offside.
Just before half time, Jeredy Hilterman scored for Almere, but this goal also led to a line due to offside. In the last minute of the first half it was first Christos Giousis and then Jonathan Mulder, who had a great chance. Bakker again proved to be an obstacle.

After the break, Telstar had the most chances, but Almere City remained dangerous. Anthony Limbombe shot the ball into the side net. Giousis hit the inside of the post for Telstar. It was Koen Blommestijn, who then killed a double chance. It was a phase where Telstar failed to reward itself. Bakker had to save from a cross by substitute Delvechio Blackson after a header by Blommestijn.
In stoppage time, Gousis missed another huge opportunity. The Greek curled the ball just over the crossroads of the goal. Substitute David Min convincingly completed the ball against the ropes, allowing Telstar to take home the deserved three points.
The Velsenaren have moved up to thirteenth place in the first division with seven points from six games. Next week, the team of trainer Mike Snoei will play at home against Heracles, which is third.
