After the failure in the relegation, Hamburg wants to make a new attempt towards league one. But you now have planning security with two personalities.
Sonny Kittel will not leave Hamburger SV for the USA. The 29-year-old midfielder actually wanted to leave HSV. He was negotiating with Major League Soccer’s DC United Washington. But the transfer will not take place “for various reasons”, as HSV announced on Wednesday.
Since Kittel still has a contract with the Hanseatic League that is valid until June 30, 2023, he will start the summer preparations on Wednesday, the club announcement continued.
“We are happy about the turnaround around the possible transfer, because we never wanted to proactively hand over Sonny anyway. With his qualities, he can make a decisive contribution to achieving our goals in the coming season, which is why we are very pleased to continue working together on both sides motivated,” said CEO Jonas Boldt.
Reinforcement from the Bundesliga
Midfielder Laszlo Benes from Borussia Mönchengladbach is new to HSV. The 24-year-old is leaving the Fohlenelf after six years in which he made 65 competitive appearances. In Hamburg, Benes received a contract until 2026.
