Last traditional Zwin triathlon, Ironman competition next year

The last regular edition of the Zwin triathlon with all the big names from Belgian triathlon history on the honors list did not go entirely according to plan. The 1500m swim was canceled and replaced by an additional 5km run. The conditions were not safe enough for swimming in the sea.

It was a nice battle between ten-time Belgian Triathlon Champion, Simon De Cuyper and Christophe De Keyser. De Cuyper from Leuven was the fastest runner and will also walk with the victory. Sander Heemerijck is third. In the women’s race, Belgian Champion Jolien Vermeylen from Averbode wins.

This Zwin triathlon will be an Iron Man next year. And that for at least five years. This news caused a lot of enthusiasm among the participants.
