The paintings hang straight, the images are dust-free and the floor has been swept: Art-To-Go Ruinen is ready for a new edition, the fifth now.
Thirty artists from the region exhibit their work in a former barn of the Forestry Commission, between Echten and Ruinen. The art is for sale for a bargain price, it is not for nothing that it is called ‘art-to-go’.
But it is the last time that the pop-up art exhibition is organized by Marijke van der Linden, Marion Storm and Annemiek Echten. After five editions, it will come to an end after this summer.
“We have always said that we think a period of five years is very nice,” says Echten. “We all do this voluntarily and it takes an awful lot of time. That’s okay, but our families and work also take time. So we stop at the peak.”
She will always remember the striking art objects and the stories of the artists over the years. This year, too, work by a special man can be seen. “These drawings are by André Tselvyko from Odessa, Ukraine,” points out Van der Linden.
