There are very few employees who have been involved with The Simpsons in their amazing career from the very beginning. Chris Ledesma was one of them. He spent a total of 33 years implementing music and sound in the animated series, which has long since broken all records for the longest-running evening series in the United States.
He worked on The Simpsons from the first episode in 1989, but retired in May 2022 for health reasons. He died in December at the age of 64 after a short illness. Jake Schaefer has since taken over.
A commemorative plaque can be seen in the episode “Mein Leben als Vlog”, which is part of the 34th season and cannot yet be seen in Germany. “In loving memory” his colleagues say goodbye to a beloved part of the “Simpsons” community. Ledesma even becomes part of the popular couch gag in the opening credits of the series, can be seen there with a baton.
On Monday (February 27), ProSieben will show the last episode in which Ledesma was still involved: “Armenhaus-Rock” (originally Poorhouse Rock).
