Last residents of bankrupt Triamant can move soon
Youro Casier, mayor of Wervik: “We can report that the efforts have indeed paid off. And that by the end of next week all persons in an emergency situation will have a place.”
Triamant is a private healthcare company that went bankrupt at the end of June. A trustee had to handle the case. Until suddenly the city was also involved in the story. Wervik has done a lot to give the 76 residents in need of care a temporary place. That turned out not to be easy. And that while according to the city council it is not even up to them to solve the mess of a private company. We are also victims, it sounds. “Strictly speaking, we think that was the owner’s job to look for a solution.”
It is now up to the curator to explore a new future for the buildings. The city will also look at how to recover the costs later.
