LAST MINUTE GALATASARAY NEWS – Unal Aysal announced that he will not be a presidential candidate for Galatasaray

It was announced that after the current president of Galatasaray, Burak Elmas, was not released, elections would be held. Unal Aysal, who was shown among the possible presidential candidates, stated that he would not be a presidential candidate for the yellow-red club.

“It is more appropriate for me to stay in the background and try to provide support,” said Aysal, one of the former presidents of Galatasaray, in a written statement.

The full written statement of Ünal Aysal is as follows:

After the Financial General Assembly of our Galatasaray Sports Club, of which I am a member of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, on Saturday, March 27, Mr. Burak Elmas and the Board of Directors, of which I am the chairman, decided for early elections. I would like to thank my friends, who are members of the club, as well as our fans who yearn for our successful period in the past, for the intense suggestions, requests and favors that I can take for the Presidency again.

On this occasion, as a club member who has experienced this honorable duty before, I had the opportunity to think again and in detail about how I can be more useful in line with today’s realities to our Galatasaray, who realizes the age of 117.

Today, at the point where our club and Turkish sports have come, instead of giving this service from the captain’s cabin as a Chairman and Board members, I am of the opinion that working in the engine room as active members with my friends and preparing the basic setup of the structural reforms necessary for continued success will be more effective and more beneficial for our club. we arrived.

We believe that it would be more beneficial to share our findings and suggestions with our new Chairman and members of the Board of Directors, and then submit them to the approval of the Board and the General Assembly.

From my own perspective, I think that an interim approval and oversight body should be established that will constantly reflect the will and common sense of the General Assembly instead of once a year. Since I do not believe that different results can be achieved without such structural reforms, I think it would be more appropriate for today’s realities to stay in the background and try to support my club with my knowledge and experience, instead of being a presidential candidate in the current situation.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank once again for the trust and support shown to me, and wish the President and Management to be elected great success.
