Last minute bust for Wilson on return to Seattle

Quarterback Russell Wilson conceded a loss on his return to Seattle with the Denver Broncos.

With his new team, Wilson lost 16:17 at the Seattle Seahakws. A Broncos field goal attempt from 64 yards that failed by an inch sealed the defeat.

After ten years with the Seahawks, Wilson had 340 yards in his first NFL game for his new team, but only managed one touchdown and failed several times with the Broncos close to the goal. His successor Geno Smith came up with two touchdown passes and also remained without an interception.

In Seattle, Wilson was mostly greeted with boos and whistles.

His successor often gave Seattle fans a reason to celebrate with smart decisions and put the home team ahead with a good attack and the first touchdown pass. At 10:10, the Broncos still managed to equalize, but twice lost seemingly safe points by losing the ball at the opposing one-yard line.

The decision of the new Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett to try a field goal from a very long distance and not to let Wilson use the remaining time caused a lack of understanding in the US media.
