Last call for ‘the golden tip’ Tanja Groen | 1Limburg

Kelly de Vries, daughter of Peter R. de Vries, made a last call to the television program Beau on Monday evening for the tip that leads to answers in the case of Tanja Groen.

The person with that tip will receive 1 million euros.

“Every time we are in the media, a lot of tips come in. So we keep shaking the tree,” says De Vries. June 23 is the deadline to share information that provides answers in the case of Tanja Groen. In June last year, the now deceased Peter R. de Vries presented the Golden Tip Foundation. 1.4 million euros was raised through crowdfunding.

“The tip must be in on June 23. That is Tanja’s birthday. But after that, the police still have time to check the tips,” says De Vries. “We have already received about 750 to 850 tips. Many of these are tips such as ‘Have you looked there yet?’ or ‘Have you also looked at Marc Dutroux?’ Yet there are several handfuls of concrete tips that professionals are still working on.” According to De Vries, it is also not important from which angle the tip comes. “As long as he comes.”

In order to draw attention to the case in as many different ways as possible, a special comic about the disappearance of Tanja Groen will be published on Tuesday in De Limburger. “Not everyone follows the news through news channels. But maybe those people do read a comic.”

The deadline for passing on information is June 23, 2022. If there is no golden tip in between, the money will go to other unresolved cases.

Tanja Green
Tanja Groen disappeared on the night of August 31, 1993. She cycled home after having had a party at her Maastricht student association Circumflex, but she did not make it to her student room in Gronsveld. The bicycle she was riding on was never found either. Several searches have so far turned up nothing.
