Last big appearance: Mirco Nontschew in the third season of “LOL: Last One Laughing”

Mirco Nontschew passed away in December 2021. He was only 52 years old. The comedian’s fans can now look forward to his last major appearance: The third season of LOL: LAST ONE LAUGHING has been available on Prime Video since yesterday (April 13, 2022).

RTL Saturday night made him famous

As a veteran of German comedy, he delighted the audience with his grimaces, wonderfully exaggerated performances and noise imitations. Nontschew was a founding member of RTL SAAMSTAG NIGHT from 1993-1998. Then he switched to Sat.1 and got his own show MIRCOMANIA. He also played the dwarf Tschakko alongside Otto Waalkes in 7 DWARFS – MEN ALONE IN THE FOREST and 7 DWARFS – THE FOREST IS NOT ENOUGH.

Thursdays there are the new episodes

Amazon releases a new episode of Season 3 every Thursday. The final will take place on April 28th. The cast also includes: Palina Rojinski, Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker, Christoph Maria Herbst, Abdelkarim, Axel Stein, Olaf Schubert, Anke Engelke and Carolin Kebekus. As usual, Michael Herbig will act as moderator.

He who laughs loses

Prime Video has been producing LOL: LAST ONE LAUGHING since 2021. This is an adaptation of the Japanese comedy show HITOSHI MATSUMOTO PRESENTS DOCUMENTAL. In the German version, the comedians fight for a good cause and for prize money of 50,000 euros. The contestant who laughs or grins the least during the six hours of recording time wins. As soon as a comedian laughs or grins twice, he is eliminated.

A special comedian and good-hearted person

Michael Herbig commented on “RND” about Mirco Nontschew and said that in addition to his qualities as a comedian, he was particularly impressed by Nontschew’s human side: “I’ve always seen something about Mirco that others don’t have”. “But I only got to know him at LOL. We fell into each other’s arms right away, that touched me. One is relieved when the colleague not only does his or her job excellently, but is also humanely intact and lovable. There’s nothing worse than meeting someone you admire in person, only to find out that they’re a jerk.”

Herbig about Nonchev’s last performance

In addition, Michael Herbig talks about the moments after Mirco Nontschew’s death. Herbig assumes that it would have been in Mirco’s interest to broadcast the new episodes: “It was an incredible shock. Nevertheless, it soon became clear to me that we should definitely show this season. I think that was what he wanted too. Not showing it or cutting Mirco from the show would have hurt a lot more. He gave everything for the audience, so we want them to have a chance to see it too.”
