A hearing is taking place in the British Supreme Court on the extradition of Julian Assange, the founder of the ‘whistleblowing site’ WikiLeaks, to the United States. An English legal ruling on the basis of which Assange must be extradited is taken into account. It is virtually Assange’s last chance to escape that. Assange is wanted in the US on a range of charges, including espionage. With multiple convictions, he could receive up to 175 years in prison.
