The Downing Street cat can be seen on all kinds of billboards in London. A tweet from Larry’s popular Twitter account featuring a picture of a billboard received more than 16,000 likes last weekend. The poster shows the cat with a bow and his slogan ‘Larry 4 Leader’. The caption reads ‘Dreams come true’.
The cat’s campaign website lists his “meow event.” In it you can read that Larry stands for a responsible ‘cat calling’ policy, wet food for every kitten and the abolition of political cat fighting.
The British Conservative Party is expected to announce today that Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will succeed Boris Johnson as party leader and prime minister. The team behind the ‘Larry 4 Leader’ campaign has nevertheless put a lot of effort into putting the cat in the spotlight.
Larry has served as the cat of three Prime Ministers: David Cameron, Theresa May and the outgoing Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. The new Prime Minister will soon meet the furry Downing Street resident.
