Decathlon is expanding its location in the Marsdorf district of Cologne to become the largest store in Germany.
After the conversion, the store has an area of 8,500 square meters, the French sporting goods retailer announced on Thursday. The enlarged area offers more space for test areas. Among other things, customers can test products in the golf simulator and discover camping equipment in a separate area.
“We are pleased that the location has significantly exceeded our expectations in recent years,” said Thomas Weidner, Asset Manager at Decathlon Germany. “We are expanding our location in order to be able to offer our customers and fans a sports experience in a sales area that is twice as large on two floors.”
The reopening of the expanded area, which originally opened in 2017, will be celebrated on March 10th.
