Large traffic jam on E40 towards the coast due to burning vehicle

There is currently a long traffic jam on the E40-A10 between Bruges and Ostend. Near Loppem, a Volvo unexpectedly caught fire due to a technical defect. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the occupant received a message on the dashboard. The driver then parked his car in the emergency lane and the car caught fire. The vehicle is completely burnt out. Miraculously, there were no injuries.

Traffic is currently moving in one lane. Those who have to go to the coast should avoid the E40-A10 towards Ostend to avoid traffic jams.
