Large fire in Febo in Haarlem, large plume of smoke above the city

A fire broke out at a branch of the Febo on the Paul Krugerstraat in Haarlem this evening. The raging fire caused a lot of smoke. The fire is now under control. No one was injured.

The fire started around a quarter to seven tonight in the branch of the snack bar in Haarlem. The flames shot out of the building and the plume of smoke could be seen from afar. The street and the apartment above have been evacuated. It was very busy in the street at the time of the fire, probably because of the Grand Prix in Zandvoort.

Firefighters got the fire under control around 7:30 a.m. It is not yet clear exactly how the fire could have started, says a spokesman for the security region. No one was injured in the fire.
