As part of the MWC 2022, Samsung presented two new laptops. While the Galaxy Book 2 Pro with 5G support is primarily aimed at mobile users, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 attracts with its flexible display and pen operation.
Samsung presented the predecessors of both new laptops at the end of April 2021. Almost a year later, the new generation follows. Both devices are available in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch sizes and with different memory configurations. At less than 12 millimeters, the laptops are also very thin. The main difference between the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro and the Pro 360 is the display.

Galaxy Book 2 Pro – the slim classic
The Galaxy Book 2 Pro from Samsung can be described as a classic laptop. It has an AMOLED display with Full HD resolution, the edges of which are extremely narrow. The case is also very compact. The smaller model is just 11.2 millimeters thick and weighs just 870 grams. The larger version measures 11.7 millimeters and weighs around 1.1 kilograms. An aluminum housing provides the necessary stability and durability.
The keyboard is equipped with backlit keys, with the larger 15.6-inch model having a separate number pad. There is also a very large touchpad. Samsung offers the Galaxy Book 2 Pro in either silver or dark graphite.
Windows 11 and current Intel processors
The laptops are delivered with Windows 11, access to the system can be protected with a fingerprint. Depending on the model, an Intel Evo i5 or i7 of the 12th generation works inside together with an Iris X graphics card. The 15-inch model of the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is optionally available with Intel Arc graphics. Buyers can opt for configurations with 8 to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an SSD of up to 1 terabyte.
For video conferencing, the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro comes with a Full HD camera with an even larger field of view and a built-in dual array microphone with bidirectional AI noise reduction. The studio mode known from the Galaxy Tab S8 is also included, in which the focus is on the person speaking in a group. Thanks to “Auto Framing”, the speaker also remains centered in the picture when he moves.
The 13-inch model also has two built-in 4-watt speakers powered by AKG and with Dolby Atmos. With two 5-watt speakers, the larger model has even more sound. Those who often surf the web with their laptop on the go will also be happy about the 5G support of the 15-inch model. Otherwise, the laptops also have Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1 and, in addition to a Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB-C and a USB 3.1 port, they also have an HDMI and a jack socket. There is also a built-in microSD slot for storage expansion. The battery can be charged particularly quickly via USB-C with up to 65 watts and promises a runtime of up to 21 hours.
Compared to the predecessor, a lot of the data on the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro reads very similarly. Probably the biggest adjustments are the newer Windows system, the better camera, the higher RAM and the support of Wifi 6E.

Flexible with the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360
Display size, keyboard, battery, storage and system – all of this is identical with the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360. The striking difference lies in the construction of the 2-in-1 laptop. Because with this model, the display can be tilted completely. The laptop is thus almost a tablet – including a touchscreen and the possibility of making entries with a pen. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 comes with an adapted S Pen.
With a maximum thickness of 11.5 millimeters for the 13-inch model and 11.9 millimeters for the 15-inch model, both laptop versions are relatively slim. The weight is also very low at 1.04 or 1.41 kilograms. Samsung does not offer a 5G version for the Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360. This model is also only available with an Intel Iris X graphics card. However, users have the choice between more colors. In addition to silver and graphite, the laptop is also available in burgundy.
Interaction between mobile and desktop
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro series is the first of its own laptops for private users that meet the requirements of Microsoft “Secured Core PCs”. Various security mechanisms are used to create a secure, hardware-isolated environment that effectively isolates memory and critical components to prevent attacks and unauthorized access to critical parts of the operating system.
Samsung has also revised the system and wants to create as seamless an interaction as possible between mobile devices such as smartphones and the laptop. Once signed in with the Samsung account, users have access to apps and content on the Samsung Galaxy device, including Samsung Gallery and Samsung Notes. With “Galaxy Book Smart Switch” data, photos, settings and more can be transferred from old PCs to the Galaxy Book, regardless of manufacturer.
